Understanding voter fatigue, DAO voting patterns and what to do about it
Most DAOs experience a drop in voting as fatigue sets in - which can lead to reaching minimum voting thresholds for proposals down the road - here's what research shows we can do about it
Hey everyone,
Today’s newsletter is a report that @lilnounsdao commissioned a few weeks back. Essentially, all the data pointed to the fact that voter engagement was dropping as more time passed. How do we counteract that?
Well, this got me thinking: voting on DAO proposals is probably pretty similar to voting in real life elections, and increasing voter turnout campaigns have existed for decades for those. So, being the avid researcher I am, I jumped into the literature, read countless reviews and a few books, and came out with some insights - that’s the report published on daoresearch.wtf.
You can read the full report on that link, or check out the key takeaways on this Twitter thread below
And a last note - I know I haven’t been as active on this substack as of lately, but I have been around. I launched The DAM Show with a few friends over from the 10KTF community, and continue to write on Twitter.
I also have a piece coming in the coming days on the whole Moonbirds surprise cc0 fiasco, looking forward to getting that out.
You’ll hear from me again very soon,
